Commercial Description:
This weizenbock is similar in flavor and character to our weizen but packs more of a punch. This wheat ale has a chestnut color and offers aromas derived from the Bavarian yeast strain we use. The flavor profile maintains the bolder and more complex malt characters of dark fruits.

Aug. 2006 - Deep brown amber color, nice head. Aroma was strong sweet estery aroma and the flavor was much of the same. A lot of fruity sweetness. I agree with eaglefan538 that this seems it could use some aging to mellow it out. Alcohol taste prevalent. Very rich and full bodied, so much so I doubt I could drink this in high volumes.

Poured the deep brown-amber color, nice off-white head. Lacing was somewhat minimal. The aroma was strong bubblegum, some bananas, not much spicing. The flavor was strong bubblegum, some bananas, a little roasted caramel, and an astringency that begged for more aging. This was decent, but it didn’t hide it’s ale-ness, and could have used a month or so in the aging cellar. Mouthfeel was full, but not as dry as some weizenbocks.
