Aug 18, 2009 On tap at the brewpub (05/26/09). Black in color with a decent sized tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is the same with a smooth mouthfeel.

Appearance: Black color with a long lasting brown head
Flavor: Nice roasted malt flavor, flavors are similar to the nose, bit of hop in the finish, rich and flavorful
Palate: Long duration, full body, smooth and creamy
Overall Impression:
This was a really nice beer, nice complex nose, and a big taste that had enough hop balance to keep it from being overly malty. Really well done.

Jun 25, 2009 on nitro-pours a retaining tan head that laces and black color with red. Aroma is sweet dark malt/oat-molasses. Taste is sweet dark malt/oat-molasses/burnt, hint of earthy hops.

Feb 2, 2009 On tap at brewpub. Pours a flat black body with a creamy brown nitro head. The nose is roasty and chocolaty with a minimal contribution of oats and coffee. The flavor is pretty solid, nice roast character without being over-roasted or bitter, cocoa powder, some earthy oat and a bit of nuttiness. Light bitterness on the finish. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, the nitro does this Stout a lot of good, which I don’t always find to be the case. Overall, pretty good, and probably the best of the three that I had that night.

Dec 24, 2008 On tap at brewpub. Poured a deep black with thin dense tan head. Nice chocolate and roasted malt aroma . Taste is well balanced with coffee, cocoa, and roasted malts. It finishes dry with only slight bitterness.

Sep 6, 2008 Tap. Poured a nice Pitch black color with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malts along with chocolate. Taste was coffee, chocolate and malts. Overall a nice smooth stout which is easy to drink and enjoyable.

Jun 15, 2008 Dark with big white head. Rich aroma that was equally tasty. A really nice stout. Well balanced and smooth, no roasty bitterness. Left nice lacing. Would love to try this again. A favorite at the brew fest. Sampled at Stoudts 17th Annual Microfest: June 2008
