Commercial Description:
Our darkest ale is smooth and full-bodied with a roasty malt flavor and creamy texture enhanced by the addition of oatmeal. When carbonated and served with our nitrogen blend, this beer has the look and feel of a chocolate milkshake. Distinctive coffee, oatmeal and chocolate flavors dominate this staff favorite. A subtle hop finish rounds out this vision of perfection.

On tap, poured a nice black color, with a nice cream color head. Smelled like coffee and malts. Tasted like it smelled. Overall a good stout

solid black, creamy tan head, lots of drippy sheets of lace, roasted malt aroma with slightly sweet chocolate, creamy body, rich roasted flavor, lots of dark chocolate, touch of coffee character, mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness for balance to the roasted, light bitter clean finish,

My first trip to the Stewart’s brewpub and this beer did not disappoint. Poured beautiful dark brown color with a nice finger width head that lasted throughout and left a nice lacing on the glass. The taste was not overly complex, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. And, at $2.75 for a pint during happy hour, it was one of the best beer value’s ever. I’m definitely interested in going back there to try some of their other offerings.

On tap-@ the brewpub. Black color w/a slight tan head & good lacing w/lasted thru the brew. Standard stout, coffee, chocolate, licorice, roasted malt...Best beer I had here this day, but that isn’t saying all that much! Thin, creamy mouthfeel, weak stout finish.

Philly Craft Beer Festival. Small plastic sample cup. Chocolate brown with a creamy tan head. Roasted coffee, oatmeal with hops in the back. Taste is a little green with coffee and faint licorice. Bitter finish.
