Commercial Description:
A smooth easy-drinking red ale with medium body and a candy-like caramel malt flavor. Sweet malts dominate the flavor profile, while caramel undertones deliver an enjoyable compliment. This ale is only lightly hopped in order to accentuate the malt profile and was our first award winning beer receiving a Bronze Award at the 2000 World Beer Cup.

Golden red/brown color. Really purty with nice big head. Smooth tasting but rather mild/weak. No punch to this...hardly better than a Killians, from my memory. Disappointing.

On tap-@ the brewpub. Light mahogany color w/a very slight head. Had some lacing to it. Mostly malt flavor w/traces of sweet cherry/chicory, some toffee/caramel, & some bread dough. Very macroish, kind of like bad Yuengling or Killians. Session brew; but just not a lot here-like many of their other brews. Medium sweet finish.

Draught at Brewery: Aroma of cherry, grenadine, malts, and red wine. Poured amber in color with almost no head. Clear and sparkling. Small lacing. Flavors of cherry, smoked wood, and malts. Flat carbonation. Dry finish with malty sweetness. A bit thin. Overall, drinkable, but that’s all.

On tap at the brew pub. Pours a translucent orange amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of orange, lemon, grass, ,caramel and toffee. Flavor of lemon, lightly sweet malts, caramel and a light bitterness. A little on the watery side.

C’mon, doulos, much more flavor than Killians. However, I wasn’t impressed by this either. My serving only had a little head on top of the amber red color. Lacing was decent. The base was malty, carmel-like, and even had a touch of tofee in it. Aroma was dead and the hops low. Slightly bitter-sweet finish to it all.

On tap at the Stewarts Brew Pub. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized head. Aromas and tastes of toffee, caramel and nuts. Another average beer from Stewarts.
