Malty flavour with a hoppy edge. Finish started well, but ended with an unfortunate gummy tang. Still, worth drinking if you come across it.

Poured into tall larger glass purchased in Salzburg, emblazoned with an Austrian crest which must have brought out the best in this beer. Golden straw-colored with a white crown. No funk in the aroma is always a good start..... instead I get sweet grass/corn and faint subacid fruits. Flavor is sweet corn/straw malt, crab-apple, light astringency, with a crisp lightly bitter finish on account of the Saaz hops. This is a very refreshing lager fitting of the Alps. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Another pale colored lager beer? Don’t mind if I do. Pours a perfectly clear golden color with a massive fluffy white head that has plenty of retention and a good bit of lace. Aroma is malty, grainy and overly sweet with some salty notes, seems kind of messy nothing really blends well. The flavor is better, I was expecting something very bad from the aroma, the beer is well balanced but a little to the sweet side, the hops are there but they are fairly muted. The maltiness is very bready and delicious if not terribly complex. All together this beer is pretty thin and a bit watery, enjoyable enough but at the price I wouldn’t seek it out again.
