This was quite a decent beer. Lots and lots of roasted malt in this one. Coffee, burnt, and chocolate flavors are all over the smell and the taste. Nice full, smooth body. Easy to drink.

Dark and ruddy in the glass with a fluffy tan head. Faint malty aroma-nothing to write home about. I was expecting this to be yet another California watered down porter, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor of this one is VERY layered, with hints of roasted malt, sweetness, anise, and something else that I can't identify... almost an evergreen taste. Drink this beer.

Tap. Brown with plenty of clear spots at the edges. Great light brown head. Nice roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate. Somewhat dry. Leaves a nice malty aftertaste.
