Commercial Description:
We were inspired to brew this style of beer by the European village breweries whose ales were brewed and delivered fresh to be enjoyed in the pubs of the surrounding local area. Draught Ale is brewed to be served fresh in the many great watering holes just down the road; therefore we don’t need to filter or pastuerise it. We want it to be served over the bar just like it is in our storage tank at the brewery. Brewed with local water from the Byron Bay hinterland, Australian grown barley, wheat, and hops, and carefully selected ale yeast we have crafted a beer with complex flavours and a clean bitter finish.

Tap at Malthouse. Pours hazy golden, looks like a wheat beer. A very fruity aroma - citric, pineapple, grape. Fruit salad! A sour taste, somewhat vinous, grapey. Bitterness is very mild, finish is short.
A bizarre beer, I don’t really know what to do with it, but it grew on me.

Tried on tap at the Local Taphouse St Kilda. Was pleasantly surprised with this simple but enjoyable APA. Noticeable hop aroma, tropical fruits, some hop flavour late after light malt, moderate bitterness, bright yellow body with fairly lasting head. A step up from a Fat Yak.

Draught at Australian Beer Festival, Sydney. So glad I tried this after the lager, totally blew me away! Possibly one of the nicest hop aromas i’ve ever came across; ripe mango, passionfruit, fresh lemonade. Very pale body, thick persistant white foam. Plenty more tropical fruity hops on the body, touch of pale malt flavour in there too. Medium-lean body, good carbonation, good bitterness to finish. Absolute ripper of a beer! Would love to see more of this down Sydney way!

What a strange beer! Looks pretty piss weak - a straw yellow colour but the nose is quite hoppy and the mouth full is similar. Light bodied, but with a good hop presence. For 4.4% this is really good.

A lovely beer with a truly distinctive aroma that is nothing short of fruit salad. Very hazy in the glass but still attractive. I wouldn’t mind a touch more body and bitterness but that may take away from its sessionability - very summery.

Clear and amber in colour with goosd carbonation and an audible crackle as the pillow of fluffy white foam settles. Hop aroma with an underlying hint mof sweetness. Lively in the mouth with a mild bitterness, easy drinking.

On tap at the Grand Central in Brisbane. It pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Citrus lemony aromas. The taste is light malt with quite marked passionfruit flavours and background lemony tones. Sweetish clean and refreshing finish. Light bodied and easily drinkable. Could have plenty of these in an evening. Worth investigating.

This should have been great, and consumed at The Beach Hotel (right on the beach) at Byron Bay in a perfectly still 29 degrees no less, but the beer was underwhelming. If there’s such a thing as a summer ale then this is it. Light hazy lemon in colour and fizzy head. Citrus and ginger to taste, perhaps with a bit of spice, but never in the league of a good Belgian wit, rather this is very delicate. Finishes clean and is quite refreshing.
