| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2004 Clear true amber body with a head on the fizzy side. The aroma and flavor are dominated by vanilla and cotton candy. A little bit of caramel is involved, and after reading the the commercial description, I guess that bit of citrus isn’t from the hops after all. Still, while it’s very pleasant and quite drinkable, it’s not really all that like a Belgian in character to me. Hopgeek (101), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2004 Light golden to copper color and makes a thin off white head. Aroma is rather lighty malted, hoppy and slightly sweet. Banana esters, coriander spice, hints of orange-lemon-lime citrus, nice even hop/malt balance. Has a sweetness to the finish. Body is medium to full and lightly warms the palate. A fine ale. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA

Nose is nice. Sweet biscuity malt with notes of orange, lemon, lime, vanilla, banana and clove (but barely) and a light yeast presense.
This is a very interesting tasting beer. The lime leaf adds some dryness, spicyness and bitterness. As the beer warms the lime leaf takes a backseat and the hefeweizen characteristics come about with the clove and banana accompanied by some spicy pepper. Notes of pineapple, mint and lemon as well. This beer is cloying. Light bodied. A little sourness. I was hoping this would be a little less clean and a little more funky.
A solid offering, but I will age many beers before I age this. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Not quite clear yellow look. Spritzy carbonation and a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, bubblegum, salt water and citrus. Strong candy lime flavor supported by a good malt body and moderate sweetness. Finishes with a lime starburst flavor and mild bitterness. Very interesting and well executed ale. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2004 Pours golden yellow with a small fizzy head that dissipates leaving a lacing on the glass and a thin film on top of the beer. Aroma is prevalent and very refreshing, smelling of a combination of spice, hops, and malt. Original taste is a balanced sweet and spicy, similar to a belgian ale, but has a more bitter hoppy finish. Body is good, but not especially thick. Overall very unique, but not as smooth as it could be. However, still has the bold palatable taste one would expect from Stone.
