Commercial Description:
A new Vertical Epic will be released every year, with the goal being to collect them all and have a Vertical Epic tasting once the final Epic is released on 12/12/12. Each new Stone Vertical Epic Ale will be release one YEAR, one MONTH and one DAY apart. This time around we used some unmalted wheat, just the right touch of Kaffir Lime Leaf, and a really cool Belgian yeast. The result is a bit like a strong Biere de Garde / Saison-esque influenced beer coupled with some aromatic Bavarian Hefeweizen style phenolic banana esters, and a backnote hint of lime from the lime leaf.

Going from memory, nose of slight banana, cloves and yeast. Sweet malt flavor, lime was noticeable, fairly soft feel, enjoyed it. Strong brew.

Very good ale. Very young. I’m going to buy another bottle and put her in the fridge for the next ten years...Right. Still another nice product from a great beer producing company and town. They’re taking a stab at gimmicks now which isn’t necessarrily uncool just...I don’ see beer drinkers waiting a decade to pop open a brew.

Golden orange with huge ricky head and lots of tiny bits floating throughout. Nose is banana and clove, hunts of bubblegum, smoke, and citrus. Light on the tongue, complexity is high for such a thin beer. Rich malts and strong hefe/yeasty flavors dominate. Some alcohol and toasty grain flavors there as well. Citrus lies underneath leaving the final aftertaste almost minty. Superb while fresh, can’t wait to see how this gets with age.

Pours turbid orangish with a John Madden sized white head. Aroma just like a bier de garde aroma, with citrus, malt, hops, some fruit, florals, peat, and slight lime. Tastes citrusy, dry, very bier de gardish, with a final dry, slightly sour burst of citrus, lime, peat, and banana. Good complexity and well hidden alcohol.

Soft orange in color with a fruity nose. Palate picks up hints of wheat and citrus. Refreshing enough to quench your thrist after mowing the lawn, yet elegant enough to serve with fancy dinner.

Pours clear golden with a light reddish tint. Not seeing the haze or sediment many others reported. Thin quickly fading white head leaves very little lacing. Strong nose consists of wheat, spice, banana, and flowers. Taste has quite a bite of bitter bananas, spicy lime, hops, yeast, wheat, flowers, and a light alcohol bite sneaking around in there somewhere. Leaves a hoppy aftertaste that lingers in the mouth. Nice and complex

Banana and clove aroma, perfumy, reminiscent of a hefe-weizen. Dark gold in appearnce with lots of particalia. White head but not much lace. Rich and full-bodied and strong alcohol mouthfeel. Cinammon, clove, and ginger notes evident. Lime leaf adds a unique flavor. Very complex and outstanding. Smooth
