| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2006 Reddish brown, tan head, low head due to alcohol I suppose. Chocolatey nose with anise. Sour yeasty palate. That smooth lucious palate I’ve come to expect from Stone. A little hops in the finish. I liked it! egajdzis (3640), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Poured a ruby brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, nuts, cherries, spices, chocolate, and yeast. Taste of chocolate malt, roast, light tart cherries, yeast, anise, phenols, and peppery alcohol. A bit young at this point, but it should mellow out nicely. Steib (581), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2005 Smokey dark brown color. Fair malt and hoppy aroma, nice notes of raisins and dates. Semi-sweet flavor, almost a creamy mouhfeel. Taste like a young bourbon, needs some ageing but very drrinkable. A style I like to see, brings a plethora of different tastes and opinions. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Nice mahogany color, good head, nice lacing. A pretty beer. Estery nose, with spice, pepsin, tiny clove, good chocolate, and some dark fruitiness. Flavor is initially spicy, some chocolate, a touch roasty, a touch of anise and clove. Almost refreshing in a strange way. Will be interesting to see how this ages. It could become a fantastic, complex litlle beast, or it could become thin and annoying. But right now, tasty!
