| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2006 Pours a dark brown, medium head. Mild spiciness, mild alcohol coming through. Flavor is ok but not my favorite from Stone. Have another one which I’ll let develop for a couple years to compare. beerBB (132), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Dark brown with red highlights; dense but small yellow brown head. Malty and greenery/vegetable with some earthy nose. All very restrained, certainly for Stone, if I may say so. Warming up, orange zeste. Licorice in the taste, tons of the stuff. Roasted malts, of course, and quite some alcohol, both in MF as in taste. Retronasal some more wry, woody, near piney notes, whilst warming up - mint? It’s thin. It shows some possibillities for aging, but not much, I fear. When 12-12-12 appears, this is going to be dark dishwater. Disappointing, certainly from this brewery. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Lots of spicey yeastiness up front that’s almost Unibroue-ish. Lightly smokey with some faint chocolate notes. Very mild bitterness in the finish. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 5, 2006 Pours dark brown, with a nice, tan head. Lots of lace stuck to the glass. The nose is fruit, spices, alcohol, anise, and yeast. Flavor is sweet, with cherry, roasted malt, almonds, and yeast making appearances. The mouthfeel is soft, nicely carbonated and satisfying. The finish is a mild amount of hoppy bitterness with alcohol notes. A fine offering from a top-notch brewer!
