Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 4, 2006 A red-brown beer with a slight haze under a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty again with primary notes of caramel, but also a light roasted malt note. In the beginning it seem thin, but then the 8.7% ABV creeps up on You. It leaves a note of soy sauce on the lips. I don’t find it complex enough, but still a nice beer. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Clear, dark brown with a warm, reddish hue and a beige head. Aroma of yeast and dried fruit. Fairly full-bodied, sweet and very fruity with some accents of dried fruits shining through in particular. Lightly vinous notes and a touch of oak. 061006 omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 16, 2008 Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Dark ruby with small head. Fruity, lightly yeasty nose with some coffee. Fruity and phenolic, slimmer than expected. A vast array of flavour is on offer, but aside from medicinal none demand much attention, so the flavour stay streamlined and without much depth. Perfectly correct, but as it does not offer something extra in either complexity, intensity nor drinkability it gets no real love from me. Just my acceptance. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours dark brown with an orange glare and a small lacing tan head. Spiced and slight roasted malt aroma. Fruity and mailty flavour - goes into a smooth chocolate flavour. Remains smooth and is joined by a mild spice note into the finish. Lovely. oh6gdx (8801), Vasa, Finland Jul 15, 2008 Bottled. Rubyish amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is sweet malts, raisins and some slight licorice and roast. Flavour is sweet mcaramel malts, alcohol, licorice and some mild smoky/roasted notes. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2006 Bottle.

picking up a lot of spicyness in the aroma with the ripe fruits,
the hot alcohol character has faded but is replaced with a big earthy presence that is drying it out too much and obscuring the ripe fruits, dark caramel is the only thing to stand up to the spicy and earthy bitterness, not sure where this beer is headed but I liked it better fresh

Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Jul 23, 2006 Dark brown body with light brown head. Plummy aroma with milk chocolate, raisins and lots of sugars. Sweet flavour shows raisins, dates and plums. Full-bodied, very sweet finish with lots of brown sugar character. Definitely built for the cellar, this isn’t bad now but it’s definitely too sweet for my tastes.
