On tap at Stone. Pours a hazy brown-amber with no head. Sharp and sweet aroma, with a lot of fruit, grapes, and malt. Taste is sharp and fruity, lots of wine, with wood, citrus, pine, and sugar. Lingering sharp fruitiness. Tasty.

Had this at EBF 08 and well while any chance of notes are more or less gone all i can tell you was this was a pretty darn good offering with nice vinous hints and oak accents highlighting the fruity spicy base brew. 3.8

Draft. Rich amber beer with a nice cream colored head. Banana, yeast aroma with spice and light fruit. Red wine flavor with yeast, spice, and light malt. Medium bodied. Wine, yeast, spice, and light banana lingers. Wine adds a nice fruitiness.

Cloudy amber color with minimal head around the rim of the glass. Kind of soapy smelling with a hint of musty belgian yest. Very good beer with hints of oak and red wine taste and a little dry finish. I love 7.7.7 and when you throw it in the red wine barrels it just adds more complexity to it.

BCTC, man is this good. Just the right amount of barrel and wine. Dry and grape skin flavors with alcohol present. Better than the regular 07.

"WOW!!! This was arguably best in show at the 2009 Stone Winter Storm. One of the most delicious and complex beers I’ve ever had. Great mix of oak, sweet, yeast, and hops in the nose and flavor. Perfect body, and a lingering finish...and it ran out fast!"

On tap at Winter Storm ’09. Had this next to the standard ’07 and they were tough to differentiate. Aging this in red wine seems like a natural progression, as it brings out the grapes in the beer while mellowing out the flavors and creating a cleaner mouthfeel. Nice.

The wine barrel did a lot to this one. Pours a golden color with red hue. lots of fruit, cherries, grapes, banana, and spice. Hints of oak and funkiness. I get this weird flavor almost like mint, I don’t know what that is, I think my taste buds are tricking me. Very strange brew..
