Pours a golden apricot with some with a thick but diminishing snow white head.
The ginger is really strong here. As far as I’m concerned there’s nothing else.
The flavor is awfly heavy on the giner as well. There’s a bit of citrus, and some sugary sweetness. It really seems to just help the ginger along. A sturdy bitterness and a long finish.
We are a little bit fuller bodied here. I enjoy that. Pleasant carbonation.
I feel like there’s way to much ginger here. This is not something I could dring again. drfabulous (1285), Columbia, Missouri, USA

Appearance :Snowy speckle, amber , medium creamy top . Nose :Rich fruity aroma , clean alcohol , malty with wheat in there , hint of spice. Flavour/Palate : Medium bodied with narrow palate. Wheat like base, yeasty with good warmth to it. Green , raw fruity hops at finish. Slightly rough, this brew needs to mature a bit more. 12+

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Golden in colour, fairly average sized white coloured head, average retention, some lacing. The aroma is spicy, peppery, yeasty, some citrus, lightly sweet. The flavour is again quite spicy, some orange citrus, yeasty and bitter, noticable sweetness starts to come through, light alcohol. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes very sweet, yeasty, noticable alcohol, powerful. Stone still hasn’t made a Belgian Ale to suit my tastes. My least favorite of the Vertical Epic Ales.

I did not find the spice as over powering as some have noted. Decent but overpriced. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Blurry peachy gold. Thin capping of light white foam of tough strength as it lasts for good length before fading to a solid collar at the edge of the goblet. Lacing is stretched in large globby strings along the face of the glass.
Aroma is fair and light with a mildness bringing apple, melon, and berry fruityness over a soft sweet doughyness and a bit of Belgian yeast is evident with some hard candy factions of sugar.
Taste is pretty solid, nice even candish maltyness leaning in with rounded tones of soft fruits and dough. Good grab of candied yeast gives it an earthy yet sweetly spiced nudge of affection within the fruityness. Flavors are unique with the fruit, not really one fruit or another can be made out. Seems kinda orangey watermelon, pale peached, and a bit figgy. Some pithy citrus notes graze the back end adding some depth to the malts and fruits.
Feel is just over medium with a firm creamyness and yeasty carbonation bite to it. Holds its tone well as it stays pretty snappy and doesn’t really have a finish. It lingers with fruity peels and yeasty things.
Another pretty solid offering from the Stone VE line up, not a favorite from what I’ve had other yeasr, but pretty solid and worth trying out. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 23, 2007 The beer pours forth from the 22 ounce bottle a crystalline gold, the head is monumental in size, the color a bright white and the texture creamy, the resultant lace a tight skirt to obfuscate the glass. Nose has a nice hint of citrus and fruit, with malt to back it up, the Cardamom is also quite noticeable, just a plethora of aromas to treat the olfactory senses. Start is nicely malted; sweet and spicy, top is moderate in feel. Finish has sparkling wine crispness, the hops dynamic in their spicy bite, the alcohol evident, as it warms your tummy, very dry and lingering aftertaste. What can I say, I’ve been a “Stoner” since the very first day I quaffed one of their brews, and will be still the day they shovel dirt in my face.
