Commercial Description:
In this year's edition we took our inspiration from two Belgian styles: Saisons and Golden Triples. As such, the Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic has a deep, deep golden hue and the flavor is spicy, fruity, complex and refreshing. We used four different malts, and a subtle, yet distinct, blend of Glacier and Crystal hops to get just the right balance. Then, for the complexity, we added in some exotic spices --- including ginger, cardamom, grapefruit peel, lemon peel and orange peel (the latter three acknowledging our Southern California home) --- and a special Belgian yeast strain. All in all this is yet another case of us drawing from classic Belgian influences and cavalierly making it our own...San Diego style!

Bottle... Poured a clear orange with a great-white head that slowly dissipated to nothing. Sweet, orange and coriander on the nose. The beer contained a mild carbonation and fizzyness on the palate. Had flavors of sweet brown sugary malt, coriandor, citrus fruits, hops, and peppery spices. Finished with a meaty hoppy presence.

Golden-orange beer with a little white head. Weird spicy nose, not as spices or herbs, but as some washing liquid, lavender, dry lemons. Oppressive spicy taste, alcohol not helping, jumble of fusels, ending dry as an afterthought. Alcohol diminishes the body, which is seriously impressive. Not my idea of a great beer. And as to those classic Belgian influences , now there’s a load of b******s.

Bottle@LCRBM. Jasmin and ginger aroma. Dark yellow color, off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, very spicy, dusty and sticky. Not bad but really tastes and feels like an experimental brew. If you’d ask me I’d say they didn’t quite have a succes with this experiment.

reddish brown appearance, nose has strong alcoholic character. flavor has strong malt component with some hints of nutmeg and other spices. the finish is a little bitter with some alcoholic notes and a fair degree of complexity. a good beer, but not a top of the line stone beer or belgian strong

Clear amber pour with a decent sized head. Nice spice springs from the aroma with a hint of fruit. Sweet taste. Kind of overpowering at first. You can sense the alcohol, with the spice finishing it off. A decent Belgian.

Clear amber body that looks like nothing so much as a glass of apple juice with head. The aroma is sweet fruit with definte spice. The flavor is in one word, wrong. Very medicinal. The individual components do not sum to good with this one. I think that there is too much going on for its own good. It makes it all just taste blehh. The citrus peel components come through more and more as I drink it and it only gets slightly better. Very sub-par.
