Commercial Description:
The Stone 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale is a Strong Golden Belgian style ale highly hopped with American hops (Ahtanum, Amarillo and Simcoe). The beer pours pale golden with a thick and creamy white head of foam. The aroma is full of depth: nuances of pepper, clove, and banana from the Belgian yeast strain, and the resiny citrus notes from the American hops blend together nicely to provide a complex aromatic character. The taste is spicy, hoppy and fruity, with a very dry and a pleasant bitter end. The bitterness lingers nicely, and provides a refreshing finish that leads you to want to drink more and more of this beer!

22 oz. bottle - pours straw gold with minor carbonation; foamy white head fades quickly; killer nose - sweet, fruity, lemons, orange peels, peaches; spice is very minor; light bodied and flavor is initially weak; dry and spicy finish; raw, grainy, lemons mostly; doesn’t quite match the nose; slight bubblegum in the finish; very nice overall

Pours a nice golden color with a smallish white head. Aroma is citrusy and yeasty. Taste is smooth and very citrusy, with a nice malt balance as well, really good.

22oz - Aroma of bubblegum, sweet bread, coriander, clove and pepper. Pours clear gold with a small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with some banana and a touch of citrus hops. Alcohol is well hidden. Palate is creamy with a tart finish. A tasty American triple.

Bomber. Filtered, gold, small head. Wonderful nose of spices, funkiness, and a minimal hop profile.Smooth profile with acute spiciness, bitterness, some lingering sweetness and a hint of the Stone hop profile. Overall very drinkable with a nice but not overwhelming alcohol presence.

First whiff was definately not what i was expecting. a Big time hop nose with a massive candy sugar sweetness. The first sip comes across with a typical belgian with light cloviness, and super carbonated. It does not finish too bitter, but has a certain dryness to it that its hard to put my finger on. All in all a good brew, but nowhere near the flagships that Stone usually has .....

Bottled. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is belgian yeast, banana, spices, and cloves. Aroma is sweet lighter fruits and spices. Flavor is sweet belgian yeast with some banana and other fruit esters. Sugar and fruit with some hops to keep it from being too sweet. Reminds me a lot of Urthel Hop It.
