Heavy hop smell that equates to heaven. Taste lasts long and the perfect amount of bitter. Sregnar35 (732), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Sub par for stone. Pours a hazy blonde with a good frothy head. Aroma is all hops, with a tiny touh of yeast. It tastes like a 2/3 stone ipa mixed with 1/3 duvel, not a bad thing at all. It’s just not a great blend for me. hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottled. Brilliant yellow-gold color with fizzy carbonation and a developing rocky white head. Sweet malty aroma with a sappy, hoppy bite. Ginger spice and a bit of grapefruit citrus follow. Flavor leans sweet with some clove and mango tones above the malty tripel base, finishing crisp and bitter. Tastes pretty good fresh, not sure what this will be like in a few years. Reminds me of Signature Ale. CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Pours a transparent bright golden with a wispy-lacing froth of clingy white head. Aroma of rich, sweet biscuity pale Belgian malts and light fruity esters with a good clove spice. Body starts with a good sweet doughy malted wheat and caramel flavor balanced with resiny piny hops and mild citric grapefruit. Finishes slightly warming and crisp. Should age fairly well and smooth out a bit. VTHopHead (934), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bomber - Poured golden amber in color with a medium whitish head. Slight lacing on the glass. Aroma is spicy with plenty of bready Belgian yeasts... clove/banana and citrus hops. Flavor is rich with bready yeast, clove/banana, spices and resinous hops. Medium bitter in the finish, which was short and clean. Really good... coldbrewky (736), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bomber at the rip and run. Pours a nice golden with minimal lacing and head. Light carbonation. Nose of salt and spices. Mouthfeel is twisted and quite yeasty, to a distracting level. the salt lingers into the undefinable body and ends with a flat alkaline finish. I will not be puchasing any more of this vertical epic series. I di not think I will partake in this series at all in future years. As in my last year’s review it only seems to take money from my pocket while the rest of this brew gets poured down the drain. temporrari (327), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2008 This is not my favorite in the series, not at all. Pours without much head and it disappears in a hurry. It’s kinda spicy, it’s pretty yeasty, but there’s something about the mouth feel I don’t care for, seems a little flat. Especially once it sits in the glass a little bit. It’s not bad by any means. I’m pretty sure that I won’t buy it again, though. And I can’t see it lasting four years. golubj (1290), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Nice orange pour with some white head. Aroma is candy sugar, dark fruit, spices, and fruity yeast. Flavor is pretty sweet belgian malt, tripelesque, banana- bubblegum like sugar, with resinous hops and a fair amount of spicing. The spicing and the hops come off a little medicinal when together like this, but I am guessing that will change in 4 years.
