bottle, from Julio’s, nice they had it right next to the 09/09/09. Good aroma, sweet, fruity, yeast spice, minor orange and mixed berry when cold, got more of a clove and grass as warmed. Hazed golden orange color, small head, faded quick, no lace. Spice, bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, syrupy, yet smooth, mouthfeel, Bitter finish. Good brew, lost it’s fruitiness as warmed. Got more of the spice from the spice then. Liked it range of flavor as it warmed.

Dec 14, 2009 Poured pale yellow with small off white head. Smelled of fruity esters, and did not have much hoppiness in the taste. Overall a good brew, but was probably better when first made.

Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a sweetish malty spicy aroma with some yeasty hints. Sweetish malty spicy flavor with hints of yeast and some hints of citrus. Has a sweetish malty and warming spicy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Dec 13, 2009 Growler fill from brewery. Always nice when Stone brings out retired releases for growler fills. Pours a surprisingly clear golden amber with small white head. Great aroma with notes of apple, champagne, berries, mango, spice, and lively yeast. But not a lot of citrus in the nose. More fruit in the flavor (pear, apple, citrus, banana) along with nicely balanced spice. There’s a subtle sweetness that moves into a light bitterness in the finish. Stone has tried to combine the elements of a Belgian ale with an IPA before, but I think this is the best effort. Very nice stuff.

Dec 10, 2009 golden pour, fluffy head. Yeasty, fruity and lightly hopped aroma. Flavor is pretty sweet with some yeast and honey notes but has a pretty nice hop balance. Pretty good.

Dec 8, 2009 Bomber. Slightly hazy light yellow with small foamy head. Aroma of sweet and floral hops, noticeable Belgian malts and yeast, notes of banana and lighter sweetness. Taste is initially sweet but is countered by a significant amount of hops. Medium bitterness in a clean, lightly dry finish. Feels delicate for Stone.

Dec 7, 2009 pours a beautiful orange-gold. aroma is tangerine zest, alcohol, lychee, underlying barnyard funk. taste has prominent orange/tangerine juice qualities with a nice hop finish. like a citrusy duvel. longer than average finish. quite improved since last year.

Nov 29, 2009 22oz. Pours a very clear light golden with a small white froth. Fruity Belgian yeast aroma, nice candi sugar sweetness, lots of bright citrus, oranges, a hint spicy. Flavor is orange peel, lots of citrus hops, oranges, quite bitter actually, very clean flavors, nice subtle maltiness, long bitter finish, tons of hops. Medium bodied, a bit sticky, crisp carbonation. I like it.

Nov 29, 2009 Just found this one at a local beer shop. Probably been at a distro the last year. It aged very well. Complex pleasant nose. Smooth rich taste. A great Belgian. Very drinkable.
