Commercial Description:
Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over-the-top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry-hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

When this beer was fresh and on tap, it was sweet yet earthy with very fruity and balanced hops. As the years drag on, it gets more acrid and bitter. A very smooth bitter, mind you, just more Ruination, less Dreadnaught. Still a fine beer while it lasts. I rate the earliest version to do it a favor.

Bottle purchased and consumed at Gunnison Brewery. Pours sparkling amber with a small, rocky, off-white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, toasted grain), heavy hops (perfume, pine), average yeast (sweat, earth) with notes of apple, pear, and honey. Medium bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

Orange colored beer with a creamy off white head. Big nose with equal parts alcohol, caramel and hop resin. Thick mouthfeel that almost got syrupy. Tons of caramel sweetness and just stacks of pine resin, candied grapefruit rind, apricot and spicey hops in the bottle. Really an enjoyable big IIPA.

Another treat from Stone. Hazy amber with red tints under a smal, off-white head. Intoxicating aroma of fresh citrus hops mingled with sweet caramel malt and a touch of pine. Rich and robust. The flavor was a noce blend of the hops and malt. Very enjoyable.

Bottle via trade. Fluffy white head. Very dark orange beer. Spicy earthy hop nose. Heavy start to the flavour but lightens up. Spicy hop and malt body. Has a cool undefinable quality and very present alcohol.

Bottled, thanks cquiroga! Cloudy reddish amber. Vast aroma of grapefruity hops. Solidly malty with predominant cookie malt character covered in an abundance o fsalty graepfruity hops. Lingering really bitter finish. Pretty straight forward beer, not the most complex in the world, but quality all the way through.

Bottled. Big thanks to Per! Pours out in a hazy reddish orange colour with a low, sticky white foam. Hoppy and citric aroma of grapefruit, bloodoranges with sweet resinous piney notes. Full, hoppy and bitter flavour pine-needles, grapefruit, lemon-zest and caramel. Long hoppy finish of grapefruit and wet grass with sweet undertones of caramel and bloodoranges. But the hops still dominates . Well-hiden alcohol. Great!

Dark orange/copper, luscious head without being too bubbly. Heavier bodied IIPA with a sweetness on the finish to round out the monster hops on the nose.
