Commercial Description:
Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over-the-top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry-hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

A solid more malted version of the Stone IPA. Had hints of vanilla flavor at the end which I found to be delightful.

Thick white head over a murky yellow golden hue. Pine and floral aromas.Oily yet creamy on the palate. Big complex hops but also nice malt to add complexity. Rich mouthfeel and pleasant lingering aftertaste. Excellent to say the least.

Bottle. A dark amber IPA. Light and lingering head. Moderate hop content for an IPA, more bitter than sweet, and a slight citrusy aroma. Clean finish, one of the better IPAs I’ve tasted.

bottle.....appearance: murky orange brown with lasting slightly off-white head....aroma: grassy, sweet, and grapefruity.....taste: sweet malt kind of overpowered the hops. i was expecting it to be the other way around. very heavy on the citrus and malt but slighly too sweet for my taste. there was also some pine essence that made its way through as well. i probably need to taste a fresher bottle.

Big thanks to Dave for getting a growler of this way back in October and holding onto it for us. Pours a dark orange/amber color. Very little to no head. Looks to have lost a bit of carbonation in the 7 months since the filling. Aromas of hops, citrus peels, rinds and malts. Flavor is subdued hops, probably due to the aging, citrus, malt. Oily mouthfeel, lightly astringent. Finish is clean, crisp and bitter. Medium length. Almost assuredly lost some of it’s intended bite, but I still quite liked it.

Bomber, with a huge THANKS to Immy for this BONIUS!, pours a clear dark amber with a sizable fluffy off-white head, good lacing. Aroma of floral, pine/resin, grapefruit and a hint of caramel. Taste is a nice hops bite with a malty middle and a lingering spicy finish. This is a great IIPA, and a notch better than Ruination IMO. Nice stuff; thanks, Immy!

wow stone did it again!!! deep sunny orange with small white head. floral, citrus, pine aroma with some dark fruits. moderate carbonation and medium to heavy body. i was most surprised by the strong plum flavors perceived. definite carmel and hay with some orange and mild nuttiness. stone relied more on aroma than bittering for this IPA, so a little less bitter than their normal IPA. still bold complex and beautiful everyone must try at least once

A small beige head on top of an almost clear glowing copper body. This IPA is on the fruity/sweet side of things. The fruity and foresty hops provide a nice bitterness that would have dominated most other beers. This one is well malted with a syrupy caramel taste. Lots of fruits flavour including the whole citrus family and why not some pomegranate too. Excellent. Another great beer from a brewery that deliver as many hits than a meth lab but without the pee smell or the mullet.
