Commercial Description:
Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over-the-top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry-hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman & mds -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with an average size lasting off-white head. Very nice aroma of caramel malt, spices and a big hop medley (citrus, pine and more). Flavour has big-time hops equally balanced with lots of caramel malt along with spices and fruit -- it’s delicious! Some alcohol present but for the most part it’s quite well hidden. Medium to full bodied. Fantastic, I loved it!

Lots of malt backbone in this one. Pours very clear, decent head for the ABV, decent lacing, decent aroma. Decent flavor...alcohol is hidden very well...but at the end of the day, it doesn’t taste like a Stone beer to me. It’s too subtle, too gentle, too balanced. If you disliked other Stone beers, give this one a shot. It may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Pours a clear amber with a medium sized, creamy, off-white head, lasting cover. the aroma is very sweet, caramel, some citrus hops and alcohol. The flavor is sickly sweet, toffee and caramel, some grapefruit, lots of booze. Medium/full body, chewy texture with a hot finish.

22oz. bomber: This one pours an amber color. There was a fair amount of an off-white head on it. Some lacing. Strong but not overpowering piney hops is the main aroma. Some grapefruit also. The taste is quite good. Medium bodied, With some malt sweetness actually coming through. The hops are potent without being overpowering, so the sweetness was a bit of a surprise. This is quite nice. Now, how can they get this into some kind of regular production??

Bottled. Amber coloured. Big nice hoppy aroma with some fruitiness. Chewy hop flavour with some sweetness and quite some bitterness in the finish. Rather soft mouthfeel. Very nice.
