Poured black with a slight brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, and some coffee. Taste is all of the aroma, along with a bitter hop bite and alcohol. Lingering taste of chocolate and malt. Very nice mouthfeel, with good carbonation keep this beer very drinkable without being watery.

22 oz bomber purchased from J. Barleycorns in Nashville. Poured a deep black color with a one fingerl brown head. The aroma was caramel, coffee and roasted malt. The flavor was caramel, coffee, oats and roasted malt, with a bit of bitter chocolate present. This was a great beer, and I hope to try this again in about a year.

This was sort of a let down to be honest. The appearance was very attractive though. Nice deep dark color with carbination clinging to the pint glass like a plague of flies. The head bubbled up to a tan and purple hue that had the cossistancey of the head on an ice cream soda. The smell was fair with a lot fo raison, dried fruit and dates but a definate alcohol note. The taste was a little surpriseing with a bit to sweet malt and alcohol which left me wondering, "where is the chocolate". Only later did i see that it was all in the finnish and gave a decent dose of bitter sweetness. I guess what kept this from a high rateing was to much alcohol lingering taste and it just became tiresome as a beer after about 8 ounches of it. I stopped being able to even notice the chocolate after taste. nearly became a chore to finnish.

I look forward to the stone anniversary beers. This one did not dissappoint. Pours more black than brown, though the head hold a chocolate hue. Drinks very nice. Bitter then sweet, then its gone. Very nice brew.

Pours black with a dark brown head. Smells sweet, some coffee and caramel. Flavor is roasted bitterness without the coffee. Chocolate comes in a the finish. Nice bitterness with some alcohol. I really like this one as I don’t like the strong coffee flavor of most strong stouts.

bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting - Pours black with a one finger tan head. It smells of chocolate and dark roast malt. The big roast flavor is wonderfully complemented by the sharp bitterness of the hops and chocolate. it has a medium to full body and finishes with pleasant lingering roast bitterness. Very nice. Stone’s made another winner.

Bottle. Pours a deep black with a great thick, light brown head that lingers. Big, complex aroma, of burnt malt, chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, caramel, oats. Taste starts sharp and bitter, before a lot of burnt malt kicks in with chocolate and oats. Lingering bitter chocolate malt taste. Really tasty.

Bomber. Has most the standard Imperial Stout appearance characteristics: Opaque black, dense and somewhat lacy tan head. Kinda boozy in the nose, but there’s some licorice and chocolate there as well. Bitter chocolate taste that seems just a little sour. Lots of other little bits and pieces in the taste, with vanilla, brown sugar, espresso and roasty malt showing up. Medium body and light carbonation. Hot baking chocolate finish. Not bad, but they didn’t knock this one out of the park.
