Stringy lacing on the glass. Milk chocolate, grainy malt and oatmeal aroma. Rich smooth body with flavors of dark chocolate, dried fruits, vanilla and roasted malts. The finish is bitter dark chocolate and sweet malt. Overall this beer is not at the top of the charts as far as Imperial Stouts go, however it is well-crafted and enjoyable which is the norm for Stone. mcbackus (738), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep black, with a thin brown head. Aroma of warm alcohol and sweet chocolate malts. The flavor is bitter dark chocolate and a hint of coffee, with roasted malt character, and an earthy aftertaste. The alcohol is quite apparent, particularly in the aftertaste. Surprisingly sweet. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A unique and excellent imperial stout, one of the best that I’ve had.
