Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Aug 27, 2008 Godd stuff. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a nice nutty head. Flavor is very tart and bitter, with hops and malt, nicely creamy to finish. GonZoBeeR (2154), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Aroma:chocolate and coffe aroma, light smoke...

Flavor:light chocolate, light smoked and light coffe..Light for 9.2% malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Aug 27, 2008 22 ounce bottle split in Duvel glass. Black with lasting flat brown head. Chocolate coffee port earth aroma. Chocolate covered fig sweetness, earthy, with underlying hop flavor and bitterness. Full body, low carb, amazing soft mouthfeel, maybe because it’s pretty warm. Well-disguised alcohol. Complex and wholesome. Definitely excellent! SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 27, 2008 22 oz. bottle - pours oily black with a thick tan head that fades quickly; roasty aromas hit first with a touch of smoke; as expected, much more bitter than sweet; chocolate comes out more in the flavors than the aromas; quite hot, strong and syrupy; a strong impy for sure, just not the most flavorful as it is a little overwhelmed at the moment; decent and hope it gets better MartiniFiend (104), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a light brown film on top.Aroma of malted hops and chocolate. Thick and creamy to the palate. Flavor has a chocolate start , carmalized barley middle and a bitter chocolate finish. This is a nice beer. scraff (1920), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 26, 2008 22oz - Perfect Pour. Black, tan creamy head. Bittersweet chocolate licorice nose rides soft waves of black currant and vanilla oat. Swirls of sugary coffee play out at room temp. Black chocolate and dark coffee berry flavors round to a bittersweet and smooth oatmeal-like finish. Full bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Happy 12th Stone. Loved it! PaulHegedus (458), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 Updated: Sep 26, 2008Bottle from Bev Mo in San Francisco, Aug 2008. This was a favourite of my San Francisco trip. Too bad it will eventually be retired. Aroma is full of chocolate, coffee beans, also vanilla and black licorice. This has all the wonderful smoothness of oatmeal stout, but the complexities of imperial stouts. I taste full out dark chocolate with many subtleties, coffee, espresso, bitterness...wow. grant (792), Long Beach, CA/Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 26, 2008 Dark, cloudy brown, shy crema head. Medium roasted coffee, dark chocolate and raisins in aroma, very earthy. Initially creamy and full, round feel, switching into a fully roasty flavor, tons of roast here, but not ashen. Like sipping espresso and eating some good dark chocolate at the same time, all with a bit of tartness. Full and effusive, nicely done. Long lasting, moderately bittered finished.
