| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Pours a dark brown/black with nice dark tan head. This stout is very bitter, but not the citrus hop bitterness, instead it has a sour bitterness with notes of bitter dark chocolate. Definite espresso and coffee beens, along with notes of caramel, roasted malt, and some dark fruit. Also creamy mouthfeel from oatmeal, but still fairly light body for the style. A very nice dessert beer. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Pours extremely thick, pitch, motor oil black color. The head is a dissipating tan color. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts. Flavor is smooth, with the roasted malts really coming through along with the dark chocolates and coffee. The beer has an extremely bitter finish. Not as good as their 11th Anniversary, but quite a feat - better than their Imperial Russian Stout. TimE (1301), Tokyo, Japan
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Pitch black color. Very dark brown head. Dark chocolate, brown sugar, burnt raisins and treacles in the nose. Amazing. Very strong treacles, dark fruit, rich mocca mouth with a surprsingly amount of bitterness. Perfectly bitter light mocca finish. WOW. this is an amazing beer. zathrus13 (1299), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Bottle... Poured black with a brown head. Oaky aroma with roasted malts. A little bit of alcohol flavors and roasted oats and grains before a coffee-like finish. BelgianBeerGal (1291), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Bottled. Pours an opaque dark brown with a medium tan head that settles into a ring. Fairly light aroma of roasted malt, a little chocolate and smoke. Nice slick mouthfeel coats the tongue with chocolate and oatsplus flavours of coffee. Finishes with a little warming alcohol. Good now but hopefully it will age and get better. Extra points for the creativity of bitter chocolate vs. hops.
