Crushed with Jakebra. Very bitter nose, coffee and dark bitter-as-hell chocolate. Pour is beautiful. Very, very, very dry, almost tongue-stuck-to-the-roof-of-the-mouth dry. Very roasty, medium to full bodied, with much bitterness. A pretty sexy beer.

#50 22oz. Pours very, very dark, cannot even see any light penetration. Nice dark brown head. Smell slight roasted malt in the aroma. Slight bitterness, choc. in the backround. Can’t even tell this is 9.2%, hides alcohol well. very nice beer

2008 Bottle - Pours pitch black with a large dark brown head....aroma is cofee, smoke and dk malt...flavour is very similar to the Stone IRS, with the main difference being that subtle bitterness present on the back end...people are calling it bitter chocolate, but I thought it was slightly antiseptic...as it warms the flavours develop, more chocolate the longer you wait...nice alcohol thoroughout...will be a fun new experience in a few years...

Pours black with a very nice moderate brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, some dark fruit and alcohol. Taste is complex with a very smooth mouthfeel. Chocolate with s nice balancing bitterness, slight oat and grain, alcohol appears on the finish, but very slightly. Well done

Thick and black with a dense cocoa colored head that leaves a tremendous amount of lacing. Nose is primarily dark bitter chocolate (as expected). Flavor is roasted and ash-like...a taste reminiscent of a marshmallow engulfed in flames above a campfire. Partially carmelized, mostly burnt sugar. A very tasty beer but not an every day drinker.

pours a jet black with a small mocha looking head, some lacing.
smell of roasted oats, cocoa, sour malt, touch of vanilla, alcohol is present but not overbearing, some hops in the back.
taste is smooth and creamy, milk chocolate dominates, touch of coffee, oatmeal, nice bitter ending.

a very nice brew. pours out a black color with a nice beige head. aroma is full of hops, dark choco, roasted malt, and a touch of sweetness. Flavor was big on dark choco and roasted malt. The finish had a nice bitterness to it. a fantastic brew.
