Intense burnt malt aroma, molasses, roasted coffee, light oats, and dark fruits. Medium full body. Very bittersweet flavor. Chocolate, roasted malts, burnt malts, coffee, light oats, vanilla, and light raspberry. I was hoping for more oatmeal flavor, but I think it is overpowered by the intense roasted malt. Good, but maybe a little too burnt. (Draught at Thrash Zone- Yokohama, Japan) matt7215 (993), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 18, 2009 bomber shared at Tupalev’s KW group tasting. black pour with a small tan head. nice looking stout in the glass. aroma of dark chocolate and hops. the flavour is very much about bitter dark chocolate, other impy stout flavours as well but the dark chocolate stands out from the rest. a thinner mouthfeel then i was expecting and i think a bomber of this wouldnt drink as easy as some other impy stouts. we had the regular stone imperial stout right after this one and i much prefered that. thanks for the bomber share to whoever brought this. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA

The head is similar to the color of the bubbles on your car oil after you have drained it into the oil pan. Sweet smelling aromas of brown sugar, alcohol, and something else i can’t quite nail down. The flavor doesn’t have the typical oatmeal stout slick feel. I has a nice, burnt, choco-coffee flavor. The aftertaste is pleasant and thick. Verytasty! shawnm213 (985), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2008 Oily black, with almost no tan head. Aroma is fantastically chocolate, even when cold. Taste is roasty, bitter, chocolatey, and vinous all at once. Finish is sharply bitter and acidic, partially owing to its highish carbonation. (GF 5/10) $7/22oz
