Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

The pour was expectedly dark with an off-white head that was creamy and produced good lacing. The aroma was lots of dry baking chocolate, roasted malt and light sweetness. The flavor was dry, dark chocolate with toasted oats. The mouthfeel was bone ass dry. Nice. Could have used a touch more sweetness in the flavor to balance it out, but overall it was very good.

22oz bottle. Pours pitch black in color with full foamy dark brown head. Aroma chocolate, roasted malty and coffee. Nice long lasting lacing on the glass. Taste dark Bitter chocolate and alochol bite with very bitter finsh that last a long time.

very dark thin brown head, bit of a sweet malt aroma, has a silky body with a strong expresso tast with a hint of dark chocolate in the aftertaste.

Oily black-brown body with a rich mocha colored head. Roasted yet sweet aroma - coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Flavors include roasted coffee, dutch cocoa powder, vanilla - balances out nicely. Chewy mouth-feel with a slightly sweet finish.

I wanted to give this another flavor point, but it seems unfinished to me. The bitter chocolate is nice - and the oatmeal base is quite smooth - but it lacks depth! From the first sip I maintained that this brew needed some time in some oak, and that stayed true through the end of the bottle. Could use some coffee as an alternative.

Poured from a 22oz bomber and served in a snifter. This stout poured an opaque black with a thin head of dark tan foam. Decent lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of bittersweet chocolate, toasted oats, and a bit of fresh coffee. The flavor included charred malts, bittersweet chocolate, oats, caramel, and a hint of dark fruit. The alcohol was well hidden. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and smooth. Light carbonation. Pretty tasty.

Bottle/22 - Pours a very dark, oily black in color with a small dark tan head that quickly faded to a very thin covering over the beer. Aroma is very heavy with dark roasted malts, smoky malts, dark chocolate and some alcohol. Flavor is quite bitter, very strong of dark chocolate and espresso. Very thick and chewy... few beers have this palate! Some alcohol in the profile, but not overwhelming. Awesome Brew!

22 oz bottle poured black with a fluffy brown head that diminished quickly. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and booze. Flavor is roasted malt, molasses, and a slight hint of chocolate.
