Poured a clear deep ruby color with a beige head. Huge citrus hop forward aroma with a sweet nutty malt base for balance. Hop forward flavor with citrus then a very long pine finish. Nutty toffee malt joins in the middle and runs almost as long as the hops. Alcohol warmth takes it the rest of the way. Big side of a medium body. Very good stuff.

Nov 27, 2009 Bottle: Poured a dark brown to almost light black. The head was thick and tan. Aroma was a blast of hops, but you could tell it was affected with a sweet malt balance. The taste was serious maltiness at first, but the hops blasted thru to take on the malt leaving your mouth warm. It felt like this beer was filled with a greater amount of alcohol then the 9.5% on the label.

Nov 26, 2009 Pours a dark red color with brownish tints. Has a full rich complex aroma that is a mix between pine/hops/and herbs. Sits very well in the mouth. Taste is a little bitter, but very enjoyable. A good sipping beer.

Nov 24, 2009 Reddish copper with dense tan head. Malty sweet with citrus hop nose. Big hope bite right from the start. Malt makes an attempt to support but it’s all hops with this brew. Alcohol is present.

Nov 23, 2009 Contrairement à la 12ième anniverssaire, la 13ième m’a fortement déçu. Elle ressemble beaucoup plus à une double Ipa, qu’à une strong ale. De couleur brune foncée, elle dégage de fortes odeurs d’houblon. Légèrement épicée et avec des notes de sapins, elle est pas très bien balancée. On a ici affaire à une bière très houblonnée, sans grande nouveauté.

Nov 21, 2009 Nice deep brownish amber color. Aroma is full of floral hops, roasted barley, slight citrus, and pine. Taste is, well, excellent! Flavor is full of hops, roasted barley, pine, malts, and just a little bit of coriander. Leaves a smooth and bitter barley and hop aftertaste. This is one good brew. Another gem from our friends at Stone Brewing Co.

Nov 21, 2009 Pine, Pine, Pine. Sharp thirst quencher. I think the malt is overtaken by the hops and for me that is a good thing.

Nov 20, 2009 Just a hair below my favorite Dogfish Head 120 minute. Wonderful pine malt aroma. So well balanced they bot stand out. Reddish brown pour with a small head. Flavor is incredible. Very piney, citrusy up front but very well balanced with a malt backbone. Finishes very dry and crisp. One of the best out there.
