Commercial Description:
Stone 13th Anniversary Ale pours brilliant deep red with a light tan foam. Up front, the aroma is all piney, resinous and citrus hops. Upon tasting, the hops are still on the front, and they are balanced with the malty, toffee like flavors contributed from the blend of crystal and amber malts used in the brewhouse. The finish is deliciously bitter, with a touch of warmth provided by the 9.5% alcohol. Bitterness comes in at 90+ IBU.

Pretty nice experience. Beer pours very dark amber with an average tan colored head that is retained. Aroma is somewhat confusing with a big piney hop note, rubbing alcohol, and toffee. Flavor succeeds more than the aroma. The toffee, note works better here and the alcohol is present, but not burning. Lots of hoppy bitterness. This seems like a double IPA with a huge malt bill. It is somewhat difficult to analyze, but is a successful amalgam, IMO. Prost!

Deep dark red colour with a fairly large off-white head that stays around for quite some time. Aroma is refreshingly piney and floral with notes of tropical fruit and toasted malt. Flavour is intense hoppy and bitter with juicy toasted malts in the background. It’s really all about the hops here and the last bottles around should be drunk asap as this is not going to get any better, I wish I could have tried it slightly fresher.

Bottled Pours out in an evil lava-red hazy colour with a small creamy off-white head. Rich, rough, resinous and sappy aroma of pine-cones, caramel-sauce, burnt caramel, roses, grapefruit and roasted malts. Full-bodied with raining notes of bitter grapefruit, red oranges, resin, grass, mild pepper on a foundation of subtle burnt caramel and rye bread. Long really bitter finish of grapefruit, blood-grape, lemon-zest and grass with subtle burnt caramely undertones. Quite brilliant!!

Pours a clear, dark amber colour with a cream coloured head. Aroma of dark fruits, hops, vanilla, butter toffee, and alcohol. Flavour of alcohol, yeast, hops, and malt.

Hopped the way that Stone does so well, but with a background of toffee / coffee malt. The bitterness is suprisnly mild nor over the top, but the hop flavor is amazing. Isn’t this just like Aniv 11? That is not a bad thing though.

Bottle. Dark red, clear liquid with a medium-sized, beige head. Aroma is rich with lots of caramel, dried fruits, pine and hops. Taste is sweet and a bit roasted with a lot of caramel malt and dried fruits. Some floral hop notes and a long, bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle. A beauty. Deep red pour with huge floral nose coming off a lacy head. Huge hoppiness that is balanced with huge caramel malts. Literal tasting notes: "Huge, special, belligerent". I liked this one a lot.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown to almost light black. The head was thick and tan. Aroma was a blast of hops, but you could tell it was affected with a sweet malt balance. The taste was serious maltiness at first, but the hops blasted thru to take on the malt leaving your mouth warm. It felt like this beer was filled with a greater amount of alcohol then the 9.5% on the label.

Pours a dark red color with brownish tints. Has a full rich complex aroma that is a mix between pine/hops/and herbs. Sits very well in the mouth. Taste is a little bitter, but very enjoyable. A good sipping beer.
