First sip surprised me as overly sweet but finished bitter. Subsequent sips the sweetness wore off. Another big beer from Stone that is full of flavor and very satisfying. ¾ (5006), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2003 vibrant, crystal clear amber/orange body. Sweet, hoppy and well, hoppy. what kinds? well, Im not too sure. Fruity, sweet, floral and ripe. creamy and spicy, very complex hop nose. Flavor, again is very complex. initially biting, resinous and intense, giving way to a sweeter, more fruity character. Superior construction shines throug in this as well as most Stone Beers. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2003 Yes, Yet another beer that was sent to my by the never unfriendly BigBadBear63, Mike, you always ROCK!
There is nothing at all unpleasant about this beer, yet there is also nothing overly exciting about it either. The body was a beautiful copper with a thick tan head. The flavor is full of citrus zest, and pinesap, a herbal note of rosemary; but mostly inundates the taster with a strike too the face with a giant bottle filled with caramel and grapefruit, BAM! ~-~#*^# ~, that’s you seeing stars and shit! The finish is crisp and dry, bitter but filled with maple syrup.
Overall a very enjoyable beer but nothing really setting it apart from the other quality West Coast, APA, IPA’s and such.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Well, the typical Stone hoppiness is here and it's rather nice thank you very much Mr.Stone. Underneath the hop loveliness is a great malt and grain base that keeps it all together like some fine-tuned machine. As finely crafted as this is, I can't get over the feeling that Stone didn't go out on a limb for this Anniversary beer as much as usual, it just seems less experimental. That's one way to do it, keep it safe and always good, but I love breweries like Hair of the Dog who will just go nuts. Go on, take a chance Mr.Stone. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2003 Reddish copper. Thin white head. Lovely hop aroma w/ good, fruity malty character. Excellent feel--nice & sticky. Lovely complex, earthy hop flavour of pine, mint, & citrus. Good malt background w/ some burnt, woody notes. Extremely, long finish.
