Commercial Description:
A Super Special Pale Ale. Amber-ish/dark orange color, quite hoppy with a fruity aroma and upfront flavor. There is a hop-bitterness sting on the tongue at first with noticeable malt reminiscent of a sweet pastry, more fruity hop flavors linger and blend into a toasty-malty balance that comes through in the finish. This full bodied ale is placed nicely on the high side of the scale.

Bomber shared with Enzofan. Cloudy golden/orange pour with diminishing off-white head. Big malt aroma, no hop presence. No suprise due to age of beer. Sweet malt flavors. Medium syrupy mouthfeel. This was a good beer, but I’m sure it was fantastic fresh in it’s day. Enjoyable none the less.

22 oz. bottle via trade with jsquire - Pours a hazy amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted malt and fruity esters. Flavor is a sweet doughy toasted malt and esters. Still has some bitterness and hop flavor. No lingering aftertaste. Medium to full body. A pretty good beer 4 and 1/2 years later. Thanks Jeff.

On tap at Stone - 2/1/08. Shows signs of nice aging - flavors blend and mellowed in harmony. No real signs of this on its way down. Nice lush mouthfeel...subtle flavors throughout with touch of pine hops and sticky caramel. Leaned toward the sweet side, but very graceful. Reminded me of a dumbed down version of the 05 Double Bastard that night. I liked it.

On tap @ Stone winter Storm 2008. Poured a burnt orange with a wispy off white head. Nose was a good balance between both malt and hops. Finish was pretty sweet with some hop presence in the backdrop.

On tap at W.S. at the Brewery. Thin whitish head on amber yellow colors. Not a unique aroma.Malty and semi sweet with alcohol on the finish. Fairly thin and not very complex. Would not search this one out. Pretty average for sure.

On tap at the 2008 Stone Winter Storm. Amber-yellow color with some light carbonation and barely any head formation. One of the more average Anniversary IPA’s in my book. Sweet hops aroma that is more difficult to pick up. Crisp and lively flavor of floral hops and well-balanced use of malts. Bitterness is quite subdued, and it finishes with a dry malt undertone. Nothing too special going on here, but enjoyable nevertheless.
