Commercial Description:
A Super Special Pale Ale. Amber-ish/dark orange color, quite hoppy with a fruity aroma and upfront flavor. There is a hop-bitterness sting on the tongue at first with noticeable malt reminiscent of a sweet pastry, more fruity hop flavors linger and blend into a toasty-malty balance that comes through in the finish. This full bodied ale is placed nicely on the high side of the scale.

Cloudy golden brown with no head. Grainy cereal and citrus aroma. Good tangy citrus taste with an alcoholic warmth to the finish.

Had this on-tap at the Stone World Bistro 9/13/07. Poured into 8oz. snifter. Pours a cloudy deep yellow color. Frothy head that lingers and laces the entire glass. Smells sweet and malty or maybe that’s a hoppy sweetness, it is an IPA I guess. Tastes sweet, none of the hop bitterness that you’d expect. There are some hops there but they’re sweet, not spicy or citrusy or anything. Thickish, with just ok carbonation. Maybe a little too old by now. It’s novel now I guess.

Dark orange with some brown hues. Malty aroma with lots of caramel sweetness and some hop presence. Obviously aging has mellowed this one. Its got some pleasant caramel sweetness with a subdued fruity hops. The finish leaves a tingling hoppiness. A nice beer to sit, sip and enjoy.

On tap at Stone World Bistro during the XIth Anniversary Festival - 08/07. Burnished orange-copper-red with a thin, fine, light-tan head. Husky, grainy, light toffee/caramel aroma with some light oxidation characteristics and subdued light citrus hops notes. Smooth, lightly penetrating hops bitterness over light caramel sweetness. Some light, fruity hops flavors are present but definitely showing their age, albeit gracefully. Soft, well-rounded mouthfeel that is robust yet delicate, powerful yet graceful.

(bottle) Orange body with a small off-white head. Sweet nose with fruit (peach, grape, strawberries), floral and citrus hops, and alcohol. Very strong, pleasant aroma. Flavor has more alcohol than expected; past that, hops and ripe fruit, and some malt. Finish is acidic, bitter; very dry - maybe too dry. Warming alcohol aftertaste. Full bodied and carbonated feel.

Clear amber, fine white head, drippy lace, sweet carael malt aroma with lots of piney citrus hops, big hop flavor well balanced on top of a rich sweet carmel malt base, long bitter finish, initally a slight hint of alcohol fumes,

Orange-copper in colour, lingering off-white coloured head, some light lacing. The aroma is still very hoppy, lots of caramel sweetness, citrus, lingering old pine, bready, resinous. The flavour is less hoppy than the aroma - more muted - lingering pine, some caramel malts sweetness, some light alcohol. Chewy bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes very long and very hoppy. Very good stuff, the hops are still there, nicely done.

650ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>Sven, thanks Steven.
