Lots of alcohol. Some raisins and caramel notes. Thick, viscous. kmweaver (2501), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a bold, reddish-brown appearance; off-white head retained at the edges. Sweet aroma, showing cotton candy, caramel, fruit and vanilla. Full, chewy mouthfeel: toffee and caramel, red fruits (cherries, especially), hints of vanilla and roasted malts and oak; the hops are well-integrated at this point, still bitter but balanced; minimal oxidation. Lengthy finish ending slightly dry: candy sugar, malts, and a hint of citrusy hops. anders37 (4796), Malmö, Sweden

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2006 Bottle. Pour is dark amber with a very small off-white head. Heavy sweet malts dominate the nose--like a light Barley Wine. Flavor is more roasty malts, some chocolate, alcohol, and like every Stone beer, some hops. Very drinkable. Had this about a 1 1/2 years ago and didnt enjoy it as much. Maybe my palate has changed (well it definitely has), but it probably is aging well too. Stone is still a favorite in my book. Make it available in NC. I will be the REP!! decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 22, 2006 A brownish/amber pour with almost no head. An aroma of roasted malt is dominate. A flavor of sweet maltiness and a warmth that surprises me from the 7.8%. A pleasant bitter finish. When I opened it and poured it the aroma reminded me of a Barley wine but the look didn’t. I’ve had this beer before and had this one in the frige for a while. I don’t remember liking it this well. I wish I had another. I enjoyed it very much. OldRaspy (292), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
