It does look like one, brown with orange highlights and a creamy tan head. The aroma is chocolatey and fruity, sweet malts, all accednted by some herbal hop scents. Medium-bodied, it has a solid malt flavor, anise and candy, chocolate, and some earthy hop bitterness. The alcohol is hidden until the finish when it lingers in the mouth and nostrils. Decent, but not exciting. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2005 A brown beer with an orange glow and a foamy tan head. Rather sweet aroma of chocolate and malt with notes of hay, yeast and smokey hints. Candied malt and liquorice flavor and a foamy mouthful. Tasty and very interesting, almost like liquid candy! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2005 A hazy red-orange beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol and lots of fruit - especially peach, but also some woody notes - reminds me of a sherry. The flavor is of anise, wood fruit - especially over ripe, cinnamon, and alcohol, that burns the mouth. The end is dry from a combination of wood and hops. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark

Malty and sweet finish. Quite nice beer with a good balance. Some vanilla is present throughout the beer. Tom Servo (424), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Nice nosy aroma, with the alcohol readily apparent. Coloring is a nice dark amber, appearing almost purple in the right light. Alcohol is nicely masked in the flavor, and the burnt/bitter feel gives it a nice sour mash feel. I don’t think Stone has disappointed me yet. madsberg (5062), Søborg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Bottled: Burgundy coloured. Clear. Orange/yellow dense head. Smoked, sweet and light vineous aroma. Light hoppy, sweet and fruity (dades) flavour. Sharp somewhat onedimensional bitterness in the end. In my books the 7.th ann. was better. Thanks egajdzis for trading this to me. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark
