Commercial Description:
As has been a tradition, we have “Anniversary-ized” a recipe from our history by cranking it up, making it stronger and more assertive. With this year’s Anniversary we decided to look back at a wheat beer that we released a couple of Spring/Summers a few years ago: Stone Heat Seeking Wheat. While it was a plenty tasty beer, we ultimately decided that it wasn’t that reflective of what Stone was all about, and we unceremoniously dropped it from our lineup. For the Stone 9th Anniversary Ale, we carried some of the characteristics from the Stone Heat Seeking Wheat --- clear, not hazy; hoppy, not yeasty; combining a delicious hop bitterness and wheat tartness --- and made some…well…adjustments.

Very tasty well ballanced ale. It has a good fruity sweetness combined with a generous dose of hoppy bitterness to create such a well rounded ale.

Thanks to Styles, Pours an orange color with a nice white head. Smells of citrus, bready, and hops. Taste is very smooth and nicle carbinated also. Overall a very nice beer

Pours a mostly clear ornag color with a one inch frothy head that slowly settles to a thin spotty cap and thick ring, and leaves a very nice looking web of lace. Smell; smells strongly hops with grapefruits and oranges, and some other fruits that I can’t quite place (maybe apricots?). There’s a pretty good malt presence in the nose to go along with the hops. Taste; strong alcohol notes hit right away. Bitter hops with some sweet grapefruit and oranges following. This has a petty solid malt backbone to counter thos hops some. I just wish the alcohol didn’t have such a pronounced presence in the flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and to syrupy for me, and the drinkability takes a big hit due to the alcohol taste.

Aroma of citrus and pine with a taste of citrus and a dry finish. Pleasant, but not my favorite offering from the lineup.

Draft at Stone’s Winter Storm. Color was gold; fairly dark. Aroma of citrus hops, with a slight pine presence. Flavor was mainly of the citrus hops, with a malt presence. Dry finish. Pretty good, but something didn’t exactly click with me.

22 oz Bomber, medium golden, frothy. Thick flavours of pine and full hops, its been a long time since I have rated a beer here, I AM BACK. Nice easy carbination cirtrus resounds with nice piney hops, not a top shelf choice, but still recommended. Bought at Jungle Jim’s on my yearly trip to Cincinnati Ohio.

Bottle from Santa. cloudy light gold with not head. This beer smelled great but have very ordinary taste. The flavors almosted seemed subdued. The grapefuit hop flavor was present but it seemed muted by the strange malty taste. I drank most the majority of the bottle, the rest went to my dog.
