LiebeBier (788), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Jan 5, 2006 This beer has a huge hop nose, big malty flavor, and bitter finish. Tasted like a cross between an IPA and a Strong Ale. Quite good. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2006 Honestly, this tastes a lot like all of the other Stone beers. This one is a little less good though. Maybe it has more malt, I don’t know. Crit (2399), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jan 1, 2006 Deep gold, large lasting white head. Piney hop/light wheat nose. Wheat malt flavor with hops in abundance csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jan 1, 2006 Thanks Tom! 22oz bottle served at the KC holiday tasting. Orange color, hazy head, sticky foam dots. Honey, orange, flowery aroma. Honey, citrus, pine, and bitteresh taste. Gumballhead-ish. Tasty. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jan 1, 2006 22 ounce bottle. Pours Yellow with some orange highlights capped with a white frothy head. Huge hop aroma. Tons of clean hop bitterness with a soft wheat flavor. A touch astrigant with a long finish. Other than some wheat character, I’m not sure how this is much differant than the IPA. CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Dec 31, 2005 Updated: Jan 27, 2006I liked it. You can taste the wheat, also strong on the hops like other stones. A little citrus/tartness comes through. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 31, 2005 Dominant citrus hop signature - grapefruit, orange, pine, resin, spruce notes with some underlying malted wheat and sweet pale malts character. Hazy golden body is topped by a generous white head that recedes fairly rapidly to ring with some patchy lacing. Citrus hops battle with very strong alcohol and plenty of rough bitterness in the short, sharp, tangy flavour. Orange, grapefruit and pine-like spiciness linger on the tongue. Light body with fairly strong, large bubbled carbonation that dimples the tongue. Snifter. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (Half Time, Sep-05). PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Dec 31, 2005 Pretty hoppy aroma, peppery and resiny aroma. Over-hopped flavor, as the malts are weak due to the lightness of the wheat. This beer basically features a big hop juice character and a rather strong bitter finish. Definitely hop-centric and unbalanced.
