Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Nov 9, 2005 22oz. bottle. Enticing and distinctive aroma, fruity, sweet and malty with plenty of wheat and tropical, citric fruits including orange, pineapple, melon and faint banana alongside some light, sugary sweetness, piney, spicy, potent hops, all with a slight alcoholic tinge. Clear light-medium golden amber color with a fine, subsiding head and very wispy lacing. Flavor is hoppy to start, resinous, fresh and strong, turning maltier around midpoint, the sweetness and intriguing fruitiness melding before the bitter, citric, dry, bready and mildly warming finish. Lively and oily mouthfeel with a deceptively full body. I actually really liked this a lot and find the strong wheat concept a seemingly fun one for brewers to tinker with. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA Nov 8, 2005 Pours clear gold-amber with a large, dense white head and some slow effervescence. Big west coast hop nose—citrusy and piney. The wheat comes through as a tart breadiness. The flavor begins as a wheat beer, especially if kept in the mouth for a few seconds—mellow wheat flavor and a subtle tartness. The finish is that of an IPA, and leaves the mouth quite dry. Innovative, excellent beer.
Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Nov 8, 2005 Bottle. Honey body with a very thick lasting foamy head. Very big spicy nose that reminds me of musk and sticky PNW hops. Great nose. Taste-salty, lots of medium to high bitterness, piney citric hops, black pepper, and lots of spice. Looks like an American Wheat, smells like an IIPA, tastes like a mild American Strong Ale. Overall, this is excellent. I am surprised that this isn’t rated much higher. PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA Nov 8, 2005 Pours a amber red color with a small quickly diminishing white head. there is plenty of lacing. Aroma has plenty of hops and is a little musky yet sweet. Flavor is very balancd. There is some initial bitterness, followed by sweetness. The beer finishes long and slightly bitter. A very nice beer! ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Nov 8, 2005 Updated: Oct 10, 2007Pours dark yellow, orange tinted with a big white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is loaded with pine and citrus hops with earthy, musty notes.. The flavor is grapefruit and citrus, good amount of sweet maltiness. Finish is long bitter and dry. This is good stuff. Radek Kliber (3912), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2005 amber gold , thick creamy head . Hoppy refreshing nose . Garden vegetable like . Medium bodied , bitter . Green hoppy brew , but not raw. Good hoppy ale . alcoholica (128), Dublin, Ohio, USA Nov 6, 2005 I’m going to have to pick up the 8th and 7th, because this stuff is damn good. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Nov 6, 2005 Lots of hops in this bad boy. Maybe there’s wheat in there but you can’t really taste/smell it underneath the hoppy bouquet. Lot’s of bitterness as with all of Stone’s brews. A smooth and undeniably clean finish.
