Commercial Description:
As has been a tradition, we have “Anniversary-ized” a recipe from our history by cranking it up, making it stronger and more assertive. With this year’s Anniversary we decided to look back at a wheat beer that we released a couple of Spring/Summers a few years ago: Stone Heat Seeking Wheat. While it was a plenty tasty beer, we ultimately decided that it wasn’t that reflective of what Stone was all about, and we unceremoniously dropped it from our lineup. For the Stone 9th Anniversary Ale, we carried some of the characteristics from the Stone Heat Seeking Wheat --- clear, not hazy; hoppy, not yeasty; combining a delicious hop bitterness and wheat tartness --- and made some…well…adjustments.

A hazy orange beer with a huge ligth orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy, while the flavor is sweet hoppy, with light notes of caramel and alcohol, the alfa acids from the hops, even burn in the throat - nice if You like hops.

(Bottle 65 cl) Slightly hazy, pale amber with a rich, yellowish head. Floral, fresh and hoppy nose. Fairly full-bodied but completely dominated by excellent aroma hops. Markedly bitter finish. 270106

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Hazy golden, rich but brief head. Perfumy tropical fruit aroma. Sweet and soapy with medium to full body. Flavour of pine needles, bubbly esters and alcohol. A bit sweet with Belgian style fruit yyeastiness, Bready syrupy finish with long bitterness. Has that clean, biscuity streamlined typical Stone-style mouthfeel and a juicy concentrated flavour, even though the hop freshenss is lost in this one.

From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours hazy to cloudy yellow with a lacing white head. Mild fruity hops aroma. Flavour is grapefruity and smooth, not as sharp as this normally gets. Good balance to the malt too. Smooth and refreshing hoppy finish.

Bottle. Unclear / murky medium particles orange color with a average fizzy fair lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, heavy hoppy flowers / perfume / grapefruit, light yeasty. Initial flavor is moderate sweet, finish flavor is light sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily / syrupy, carbonation is soft.

pours opaque orange with a nice fine white head, sweet citrus aroma, light body, big bitter hop flavor on a slightly sweet malt base, sweet, tart, fruity, bitter, repeat, lots of fruity malt character, nice bitter finish that becomes a bit astrengent, after warming it starts to balance out a bit but still a wide gap between the bitter hops and light malt

sweetness comes on stronger, almost cloying at first but settles down
