Commercial Description:
As has been a tradition, we have “Anniversary-ized” a recipe from our history by cranking it up, making it stronger and more assertive. With this year’s Anniversary we decided to look back at a wheat beer that we released a couple of Spring/Summers a few years ago: Stone Heat Seeking Wheat. While it was a plenty tasty beer, we ultimately decided that it wasn’t that reflective of what Stone was all about, and we unceremoniously dropped it from our lineup. For the Stone 9th Anniversary Ale, we carried some of the characteristics from the Stone Heat Seeking Wheat --- clear, not hazy; hoppy, not yeasty; combining a delicious hop bitterness and wheat tartness --- and made some…well…adjustments.

22oz bottle. Glowing golden orange color, white- tan head with lacing. Aroma starts out spicy and bready, fresh and spring-like with some juicy hops coming on midway through the sip.

Clear amber-gold color with a small off-white head. The aroma and flavor were strong with citrusy hops, but also had a nice fruitiness in the background...alcohol came through a little too much. The feel was very crisp with a dry finish. I’m a little disappointed with the past two anniversary beers. When are they gonna do an imperial stout anniversary ale?

forgotten read lost bottle from my cellar. poured a light orange with a decent white head. Not to bad for a beer of its age much better when fresh.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange golden in color with a foam white head. Aroma sweet floral hops. Hoppy and malty taste, after 2 years there is a slight alcohol warmness. There is no wheat taste to this beer. A very good ASA.

12/16/05: Bottle.
Aroma is fresh and loaded with hops. Body is an orange tan color with a rich head. Lacing clings to glass. Ample hop flavor with some citrus; also very fresh. Another great Stone brew.

Had this on tap at Mugs in Brooklyn. Strong malt and hop aroma. Cloudy pale orange color with a large white head due to the fact that we had the last of the keg, sorry. Creamy start finishing with a piney hop bitterness. A well balance strong ale.

22 oz bottle. Aged very nice! Cloudy orange in color, very sweet like a DIPA but not as alcoholic. Lots of fruity tones.

I like it, it packs a punch and gives you a nice strong ale. Loads of hops, some nice malt, its good. I haven’t had any of the previous aniversary ales to compare.
