| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 1, 2006 This orange colours is what I have come to expect from Stone beers. Soft looking head that is almost white. This citrus aroma reminds me more of lots of fresh pulpy fruit juice than it does of sour lemons. This carries through to the taste, with lots of hops all over the place. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2006 This beer has a huge hop nose, big malty flavor, and bitter finish. Tasted like a cross between an IPA and a Strong Ale. Quite good. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Tasted on draft at the 9th anniv festival, rating from the 22oz bottle. Orange-gold with a small diminishing head that hangs in and laces nicely, aroma somewhat sweet citrus, yeast and piney floral hops with alcohol note. Malt is light, bready sweet lemony tangerine citrus, medium body mouthfeel is full and finish is decidedly hops bitter and slightly acidic. I like the balance, I like the smoothness, I like the beer very much, hats off to Stone for coming up with something different and making a quality, drinkable, satisfying brew. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 15, 2006 (03.12.06) Stone 7th , 8th, and 9th anniversary vertical sampling at DiCarlo’s, special gift of Scott L. Brown 22 oz bomber bottle. 2005 Vintage (release date 08.29.05). 50 IBU. 7.8% ABV. Identified on website as a bigger version of Stone’s Heat seeking wheat. Pours clear light orange with small white head. Good carbonation. Pine resin soap-like aroma. Medium bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and fruity citrus hop flavor. Finishes with lingering hop bitterness and light malt fade. Well-balanced but with a pronounced hop profile. Of the 7th, 8th, and 9th anniversary vertical sampling, the 9th anniversary version takes third place, following the 8th and 7th (best of show) anniversary versions. A very good hoppy flavored beer. Thanks Scott! Hangover (771), Atlanta, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2006 Clear golden pour with a thin eggshell colored head. Hard to pick out an aroma on this one. Relatively mild wheat and some malt. Very smooth taste, nice and creamy. Very hoppy taste with some dough and citrus. Alcohol is evident and very warming in the finish. Very odd for a wheat, I don’t dig the combo of bittering hops and the alcohol finish. Looking outside of style designations, it’s a pretty good beer, not spectactular, but certainly good. nbutler11 (769), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2009 On tap at Winter Storm ’09. Pours a light copper color with a trim white head. Smells of bitter hops and pine. Tastes of both with an unsettling amount of spice that I had a problem placing. Decent, but not my bag. HopheadHans (755), Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Tap. This keg made it to City Beer last week. I was surprised at how well this held up even though I never had it fresh. Still great aromas and flavors of hops. Flavor prfile has some wheat and graininess mixed it and some bread and dough. Then the hops take over again with a nice bitter finish.
