Aroma of citrus, spice and hops. Light, zesty body with a crisp and peppery character. Grapefruit, hops and spice flavors dominate but there is a bit of sweet malt in the background too. The finish is spicy with more citrus. Pretty good hodgepodge style beer. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2005 Aroma is hoppy, with citrus notes and some good malt too, Light amber, pours a small head. Flavour is piney, citrus hops, with a fine malt backbone. Medium bodied, sticky, chewy, very bold offering. Terrific! Glouglouburp (2839), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2007 A white ring of foam on top of a cloudy orange body. Nice soft mouthfeel, soft in a cotton-candy melts-in-your-mouth kind of way. Body is filled with soft slightly roasted malts. Generously hopped with aromatic hops providing only a light bitterness. Grapefruits and citrus flavours abound. No alcohol presence at all. The whole beer feels very soft and ends-up being highly drinkable. Its lack of punch will turn down many lovers of in-your-face beers but I for one could drink bottles after bottles of that stuff without ever getting sick of it. If all 9th anniversaries were that wonderful all 3rd graders would be riding new bikes. beerinmarch (2800), Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2006 Pours a hazy gold with a solid white head. The wheat character is nice and as the hops have died down a bit from aging this shows more character. Now a much spicier yeasty finish blends with the wheat taste. Finish is drier then it used to be, much better now then when I first tried it. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Mostly clear and deep golden. Lively carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. Malts had notes of wheat, hay, light grains, and crackers. Mild sweetness gave off aromas of honey. Big, hoppy notes of pine, lime, flowers and Hubba Bubba bubble gum. Not quite enough sweetness to balance out the bitterness and sharp hop aromas, but I didn’t mind too much. I kind of liked the extreme hop edge. after4ever (2773), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 29, 2006 Bomber. Pours fully orange with a bit of white filmy head. The nose is bready and wheaty. The attack is fairly neutral, but the mid palate does show a lot of sweet wheat and some sweet malt. The finish is long, dry, and bitter. Not sure what I was expecting, and this may or may not be a brand new type of beer, but it’s satisfying and tastes great. (I know, sounds like faint praise, given that they were probably aiming for more). riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 5, 2007 First was the intense malt in your face. It was extremely sweet smelling, fruity, earthy. Some what like apple juice. Small amount of bitterness initially. Aroma was a pale translucent golden with a ton of yeast in the bottom. The beer was intensely sweet and earthy. As it warmed it got alot more hoppy, which was a nice surprise. Obviously this beer was a little older, as the bottle was labeled September of 2005, so I assume it was sweet due to the aging, but this was a real good beer.
