Commercial Description:
As has been a tradition, we have “Anniversary-ized” a recipe from our history by cranking it up, making it stronger and more assertive. With this year’s Anniversary we decided to look back at a wheat beer that we released a couple of Spring/Summers a few years ago: Stone Heat Seeking Wheat. While it was a plenty tasty beer, we ultimately decided that it wasn’t that reflective of what Stone was all about, and we unceremoniously dropped it from our lineup. For the Stone 9th Anniversary Ale, we carried some of the characteristics from the Stone Heat Seeking Wheat --- clear, not hazy; hoppy, not yeasty; combining a delicious hop bitterness and wheat tartness --- and made some…well…adjustments.

IWe drank this side to side with ruination and it was dificult to tell the fdifference between the two, other than a lingering sweetness in the 9th. Golden beer. Stoney, rocked out head. beautiful beer. Very atractive. Nose is hop monster. Stone has a way of hopping things so that the bitterness is chunky and violent at the core, smooth and supple at the edges. All hops and a little bit of sugary sweetness from the wheat. Tartness as claimed in the description is not apparent yet. As it touches the tongue, sweetness is evident first. Maybe a little tart but nothing too powerful. Hops are massive. Wall of cheesy bitterness. All in all a good beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours cloudy light orange color with medium white head. Aromas of citrus and grapefruit. Tastes like an IPA with citrus and grapefruit and little bit of graininess in the finish. I agree this is a lot like 3F Gumballhead. Very good. .

Poured a light amber, with a white head, not too big. Aroma was citrusy and slightly hoppy and a bit malty. I really liked this brew, it had a nice hoppy and yeasty flavor, nothing too special but very tastey. Overall nice.

pours deep golden with lots of carbonation and a medium sized white head. Aroma is slight grain and bit grapefruit hops. Taste is the same. Big bitterness of citrus and grapefruit. Lighter than other stone anniversarys but probably my favorite of the ones I have tried.

Yellow and orange in teh glass, with a gorgeous head and lots of lacing. The nose on this beer is excellent: grapefruit, lemon, banana, orange, all the fuity esters are there. There is also a hint of malt underneath the beer -- hazelnut and brown sugar. Tasting is just as solid. Plenty of fruit on the tongue -- tart and lively, with a bittering finish. Palate is neutral. Lots of bubbles, but so-so weight and a shorter finish.

Pour and aroma are great. Beautiful coloration, orange-ish gold, with effervescent carbonation. Head is substantial, foamy and a dingy cream color. Aroma is heavy of peach, honey, wheat-grain and hops. Peachy fruit is noted in taste as is a bit of an alcoholic fire that pairs nicely with slight sourness of wheat. Crisp finish.

Has a bold citrus aroma on the nose. Copper body with good white head and some lacing. Flavor of grapefruit and oranges are abundant and the syrup texure seemed to give this flavor till the end. Crisp on the palate and leaves a orange peel aftertaste. Good Beer.
