Aroma still has a health dose of citrusy hops. Body is somewhat oxidized but has good complexity of sweet caramel malt. Has lost some of its hop sharpness, and is probably past its prime. but is still quite drinkable.
Original rating 9/15/05: Pours a lightly hazy copper orange with a frothy and well-lacing white head. Nice fresh crisp hoppy aroma has some sweet crystal malt and grainy wheat. Body starts with a nice candy malty sweetness and good mild citrusy and piney hops. Finishes sugary, semi-bitter, earthy and lightly warming. An interesting and enjoyable beer. Tangy sweet and citrus. Assertive all around, but believe it or not, Rockinout’s American Indian Wheat was far hoppier than this. Loved the citrus, pine, floral aromas. 2nd bottle tasted a little sweeter (but it was also served a little warmer, so that could explain it). I’ll taste a few more of these while they’re fresh. goldtwins (4081), Nesconset, New York, USA

The citrus aroma seems to be more from malt than from hops. Aroma is thick. Malty sweet flavors. Citrusy with an acidic and bitter finish. Pretty tasty. I wish it came in 6 packs. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Sweet citrusy malty and hoppy flavor. Not enough body. Finish is hoppy. You get lots of hops and little malt. Not balanced. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Beautiful bright and crystal clear orange with a huge, firm white head that vanishes, leaving lacing on the side of the glass. Sweet orange taste, not much malt, but a long and ver bitter finish should keep any kid from confusing this for some sweet orange drink. Description says it’s a wheat beer. I don’t get any haze or other tell tales of a wheat beer. Originally I gave it a 14 overall, but it started to grow on me. Not quite like Ruination ... but a striaghtforward hop meister from Stone. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA

Aroms is sticky caramel malt blended hops of mild pine, citrus, and peach. Flavor is soft but sticky caramel, apricotm mild pine and citrus. Finish was dry then I thought it would be from the sweet maltiness in the foreflavor making it more drinkable then the front of my tongue predicted. Body is medium, palate is kept light and flowing by a fine carbonation. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA

Body is an orange tan color with a rich head. Lacing clings to glass. Ample hop flavor with some citrus; also very fresh. Another great Stone brew. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2005 Gold color with a lasting white head. Aroma is fresh spicy & piney hops. Tastes like a toned down Ruination, as the hops jump right at you. The malts follow with a lot of sweet citrus, mostly tangerine. Nice lacing throughout. Color seems a bit light for the category but oh well. Although the malt flavors are sweet and the hops are tangy & chewy, there’s no balance. You really get one or the other. Maybe anothr month or two will mesh the flavors.
