Commercial Description:
As has been a tradition, we have “Anniversary-ized” a recipe from our history by cranking it up, making it stronger and more assertive. With this year’s Anniversary we decided to look back at a wheat beer that we released a couple of Spring/Summers a few years ago: Stone Heat Seeking Wheat. While it was a plenty tasty beer, we ultimately decided that it wasn’t that reflective of what Stone was all about, and we unceremoniously dropped it from our lineup. For the Stone 9th Anniversary Ale, we carried some of the characteristics from the Stone Heat Seeking Wheat --- clear, not hazy; hoppy, not yeasty; combining a delicious hop bitterness and wheat tartness --- and made some…well…adjustments.

Bomber thanks to Raindog for this one.Nose is gig on the hops but also get a little bit of peachy-ness.Under tones of grass. This is very refreshing, not unlike a spritzer of some kind,in a beer sort odf way.

Honestly, this tastes a lot like all of the other Stone beers. This one is a little less good though. Maybe it has more malt, I don’t know.

Thanks Tom! 22oz bottle served at the KC holiday tasting. Orange color, hazy head, sticky foam dots. Honey, orange, flowery aroma. Honey, citrus, pine, and bitteresh taste. Gumballhead-ish. Tasty.

10/3/05. Bomber. Hazy golden with large creamy white head. Grapefruit and floral hop aroma. The hop bitterness overpowered the banana of the wheat.

Light amber with a thin head. Smells caramel sweet with a touch of spices. Smooth med.body. Taste mjrrors the smell with a hoppy bitterness to finish. 61006

Courtesy of WBC. Clear gold with a small, but very dense, white cap. Nose is dominated by resinous, floral hops with some light fruit undertones and a bit of soap as it warms. Taste is like a grainy IPA up front with a tangy wheat finish. Pine, more light fruits, and some subtle spiciness, also. Even at one year old the hops are overpowering anything else that might be there. The second half of the bottle adds some spicy yeast notes to the flavor and dries out the finish. Both are much welcomed. Hops still dominate. Should be an interesting brew a couple years from now. Medium/full body, balanced. A little syrupy at times. Very tasty but not exactly what I was hoping for.

Bomber. Poured a clear medium-golden with a massive, rocky white head. Thorough lacing followed it down. Grapefruit and sticky caramel pounded the nose, and were followed up by tart wheat, grass and lemon zest. Tart, lemony wheat found the tip of the tongue... somewhat heavy caramel base for the Pac NW hoppage in the rest of the drink. Body was significantly less assertive than the aroma led on... refreshing, though. Very enjoyable overall.

750 ml bottle-pours a white head with clear gold color. Aroma is hops. Taste is a too sharp/biting hops, creamy. rerate-Taste is rich, hoppy this time.
