Complex beer, smoother than the normal Arrogant Bastard and has a great finish and aftertaste. This was a lot better than regular bastard. Probably one of there best offerings actually. A rich vanilla, oak, and bourbon addition that you don’t have to look for. It really mellowed out this beer very nicely. awiseman01 (375), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Tap at FFF. Dark ruby/brown with 1 finger light tan head. Has similar nose and flavor to original version, but smoothed out, sweetened and infused with bourbon. I really dig what the barrel did to this brew. patrickfannon (376), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose of roasted malt, caramel, hops, and hints of pepper. Relatively full body, amazing lacing, and a strong finish. Another great offering from Stone. RAYBOY01 (1868), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Tap at FFF: WOW! Big oak, and vanilla on top of the huge bourbon barrel notes on top of the already nearly perfect Arrogant Bastard hop attack. What could be improved upon here? | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Draft at RNH. Pours black body with a than head. Wow the aggressive hop character is subdued by a nice vanilla and oak. Some lighter vanilla, wood and light bourbon notes. Lighter pine hop and tawny caramel. I liked it. Pours a hazy copper colour with a thin off-white head. Prevalent aroma of vanilla and of course bourbon with a hint of brown sugar and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma and slightly dry and moderately bitter. Lightly carbonated. Good stuff.
