Bottle. 25.4 oz. Split with Braden. Pours honey amber with a moderate white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, hops, vanilla, grapes, and hints of banana. Medium to heavy body. Smooth mouth feel, with a warm, creamy finish. Excellent barley wine.

Wow! This one packs a punch. Strong but very tasty Barley Wine Style. Stone never disapoints.

Aroma is primarily bourbon. Lots of bourbon in the taste. Is this think aged in bourbon barrels? Despite the huge bourbon it’s very well blended and pretty decent overall.

Draft – Frisco’s. Deeply hazed amber orange, thin creamy white head. Intense citric bourbon and oaked vanilla toffee aromas ride waves of boozy dark fruit from start to finish. Deep brown sugared hop flavors up front warm to a citric vanilla wood note at mid-ground. Rich rum raisin undercurrents blend effortlessly before the all mighty hops bring this beast back full circle. Thick bodied and smooth, soft carbonation, boozy, bittersweet finish. This was powerful in every sense of the word…and I loved every sip of it! This one needs a bottling one day…

Sampled at the 2009 AZ Strong Beer Fest on February 28th. Among the best of the day. Lots of hops, bourbon, brown sugar and dark fruit in there. Very nice.

Sampled @ 9th AZ Strong Beer Festival. Aromas of bourbon and vanilla on the nose. Amber body with off white head. Good sweet sugary caramel flavor with the bourbon alcohol warming factored in. Some dry bitterness on the finish. Good stuff.
