Draft @ Stone bistro. Pours amber with tan head. Huge bourbon in the nose. Great aroma. Very creamy mouthfeel. Taste of bourbon, vanilla, and caramel. Awesome beer.

Tasted on tap at Stone Bistro during the 08 RBSG. This Barley wine pours a deep amber color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is bourbon, malt, oak and sweet. A full bodied barley wine. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. Laced with nice touches of vanilla and oak. It’s added some sweetness and a whole lot of bourbon flavors in the barrel. Very smooth tasting. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet with some wood and alcohol.

2006 on-tap after RBSG came through. Pours hazy, copper/amber with a super thin, whispy white head. Smells sweet malty and hoppy spicy with sweet vanilla and bourbon from the barrel. Tastes of some spicy alcohol, wood and bourbon with some spicy hop notes and a warming alcohol and sweet malt finish. Full body, good carbonation. This was my favorite of the BA beers they had on tap after RBSG.

Draft... RBSG ‘08... This beer rocks!... Clear golden ale with not much of a head. Big, hearty bourbon and caramel nose. Full-bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Tons of bourbon and alcohol. Lots of caramelly sweetness backed up by a fair amount of hop and alcohol bitterness. Finishes boozy and bitter. World class beer!

On tap at the Stone Bistro. Pours a burnished caramel amber color, partly cloudy, topped with a thin layer of wispy off-white head. Woody aroma of stringy oak, mild vanilla, and a moderate bourbon booziness. Softer notes of caramel malt, fruitcake, and mild pear esters lie beneath. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel with a slightly sticky texture. Flavors of caramel and vanilla up front, along with some sherried pear. Mild fruits, light bitterness, and wood. There aren’t any clever tricks or miraculous transformations happening here; it tastes exactly like OG with bourbon. The BB character isn’t overdone and works well with the base beer.

From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours hazy orange with no head. Dense bourbon aroma with mild fruity accents. Smooth caramel malty base flavour and a dense bourbon flavour coming through. Good balance between the malt and bourbon. Slight burning alcohol finish though.

Draftat the Bistro. Pours a hazy maroon orange, with a small off white head. Smells oflight bourbon, dark sweet malts, and some dark fruits. The flavor was pretty intense. Pretty sharp and biting on the palate. Good dose of some boozy bourbon mixed in with some bready yeast flavors, malt, and sweet fruits. Some smooth, rich vanilla came through to balance it a bit. Pretty strong brew. Maybe a touch boozy, but quite complex and enjoyable. Pretty nice.
