Pours a burnt orange copper color with a disappearing head. I get lots of bourbon in the nose along with candy sweet malt, perhaps candy apples. Notes say, "Wow"! Flavor is straight bourbon up front followed by a nice super sweet fruitiness. Some hops do peak through on the backside, but are subdued, but there still is bitterness. Also, I get a little oak in the flavor as well. Full bodied and hot alcohol, but still pleasant. Lingering bourbon flavor. Damn fine nightcap. goldtwins (4083), Nesconset, New York, USA

Poured a hazy copper color with a thin off-white head. Forward but smooth bourbon with notes of vanilla and brown sugar. Very nice. The flavor is of bourbon, wood and perfectly aged malt. Woody dry finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel with a full body. This was awesome stuff! scraff (1946), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 29, 2009 Draft – Frisco’s. Deeply hazed amber orange, thin creamy white head. Intense citric bourbon and oaked vanilla toffee aromas ride waves of boozy dark fruit from start to finish. Deep brown sugared hop flavors up front warm to a citric vanilla wood note at mid-ground. Rich rum raisin undercurrents blend effortlessly before the all mighty hops bring this beast back full circle. Thick bodied and smooth, soft carbonation, boozy, bittersweet finish. This was powerful in every sense of the word…and I loved every sip of it! This one needs a bottling one day…
