06 Dark red amber hue with diminished tan head. Sharp brandy taste that reminds you this is a sipping beer. Some piny hops come through, and may be better after some more time.

growler thanks to my pal in san diego.... commences with a dark reddish caramel brown with a soapy off-white head..... aroma of papery biscuity caramel malt with a moderate brandy influence.... flavors hold up as well and does not taste as oxidized as the nose suggests. lots of caramel and toffee notes interspersed with vanilla and sweet brandy aspects. hops still present in the tailend and leaves some bitterness in the finish.

On tap at Winter Storm. Pours a murky plum color with a beige head. Full of brandy and raisin in the aroma, which carry into the flavor along with notes of smoke, vanilla, and white grapes. Quality.

This was a wise process for this beer because it extends what is good about it. It deepens the dark red fruitiness and highlights it by unifying it with whatever alcohol is left in this versie. The finish is extended out the door and down the street. Wood, vanilla, fruit, hops and sophisticated alcohol make appearances. Gullible people could be made to believe that regular DB is brewed with Brandy because of how well this version works.

Draft at Stone Winter Storm (01/25/2009). 2006 version (not sure if there is another). A very sweet brandy nose Poured a slightly cloudy burnt amber hue. Strong brandy flavors and a heavy alcohol mouth. If you like brandy you will love this!! Incredibly smooth. Very good brew, even better I was into brandy.

Winter Storm ’09. Pure decadence. Nice looking amber color, lots of boozy delicious Brandy on the nose, but a smooth, gentle Brandy flavor mixed with all that is great about DB.
